2018 WAS A SUCCESS DUE TO 80% UNION CONTRIBUTION EFFORTS.
With the participation of our labor community, Our First Annual South King County Back2School Youth Initiative was a huge success. Returning to school should always be an exciting time for kids but often times that joy is cut short for struggling families in our communities.
The tremendous effort of the community, support, dedication and generous donations allowed us to serve 177 families by providing backpacks, school supplies and clothing to 458 scholars.
Community engagement
With 798 people in attendance, we were also able to connect directly to the people. It is our vision to be able to meet the needs of even more scholars next year. And with continued support we can make this possible. We are so thankful to all who stood in solidarity with a shared belief that sending a child back to school should not be a financial hardship.
